I've had more headaches designing signalling mods to mechanical frames than
electrical (or computer based, for that matter) and I cut my teeth on
mechanical stuff. Ever tried to make sense of say Newcastle's Miniature
Lever
frame locking diagram (the diagram that shows the interlocking tappets
inside
the locking box). When I resignalled Civic I had to interface to that thing.
And I spent 25 hours straight cutting over mods to Woodville Jn Box about 10
years ago. And pistol grip machines, well don't get me started on those.
Give
me computer based interlockings anytime. At least I can play around with my
creations on the simulator to test them before installing them on site.
