>Mark, and all. I have thought about having a passenger car atached to cane
trains! Any rail fan WOULD think of that idea, when he is watching a cane
train roll down the street in Nambour. A case of, "what if. . . " In fact, I
wonder WHY the sugar companies don't try and get the revenue that MUST be
generated by adding one or two passenger cars to their trains. I am amazed
at the silly excuses that "authorities" come up with as to WHY it isn't
possible to do a suggested thing. I suggested that QR operate a through
train from Brisbane to Longreach, instead of running the "Capricornian" and
"Midlander". My idea WAS accepted, resulting in the "Spirit of the Outback".
But, when I suggested to another QR manager, that the train SHOULD have a
"Motorail" car, I was given a very firm "NO". But, three moths later, when
the train was launched, a MOTORAIL waggon wa on the train!
