Bryan,

I very much doubt if the criticisms are over David Mayall's illiteracy.
However, his ridiculous statements here are deserving of whatever contempt
others can muster.

At the beginning of this thread, he claims that National Rail Corporation (a
company that doesn't operate passenger trains) will be effectively taking
over passenger operations between Melbourne and Geelong, using
standard-gauge locomotives on a broad gauge line.

He has also, earlier this year, claimed to have been the sole rescuer at the
Granville Rail Disaster in 1977 - quite a feat considering the enormity of
that disaster and that Mr Mayall claims to be 22 years old in 2001.

I don't really think his spelling ability has anything to do with the
comments that are made about him.
