This is one of the problems (a reasonable one though) with continually rising
expectations. The Blue Mountains timetable has been maintained at the current
high standard for well over 10 years now (no other Oz city comes close to
Sydney's 100km+ service levels). Even a look at early 80s TTs will show how
much better the current Mountains service is.

However, just 2 cars on a Katoomba - Mt Vic. (Lithgow?) shuttle once every two
hours to supplement the through service would go a long way to resolving this
issue (would require retiming of either the up or down Mountains service).
While a change of trains may be a pain, an hourly service would be more than
worthy compensation.

The extra 2 cars can be taken from a moring and eveing peak Mountains
service - encourage some of the hundreds of people that join AM/leave PM
services at Emu Plains to catch another service or stand if they want a
quickie (The Chips offloads approx. 200 passengers each weekday at Emu Plains,
last suburban station heading west which is only 58km into a 127km trip to Mt
Vic - not great carriage utilisation).
