With the recent announcement of new diesel trains for Newcastle, no mention
has been made of the Endeavours which were supposed to be transferred from
the South Coast to Newcastle. Weren't these Endeavours supposed to replace
the last of the 620's? If so, why are new trains needed (apart from the
aspect of being a political stunt)?
