What an excuse, don't think Basil Fawlty could have come up with a better
one.
Let's install ticket machines, but you shouldn't use them because they might
wear out.

I note CityRail's charter aims to have 98.5% of machines operating at all
times.

Do not use lifts in case of fire, let's all use the fire stairs instead and
give the lifts a break, they might suffer from overuse syndrome.
