>From observation Kingsgrove's terminating road will be south of the station,
so a train from the city will arrive on platform 2, then run into the
terminating road before reversing and running back to platform 1 and then
continuing back towards the city. Will the facility include a trailing
crossing arrangement like Bankstown's?

As for Padstow a total budget of $12m is a lot for a simple terminating road -
something that could be accommodated to the south of the station between road
overbridges with minimal earth works to widen the cutting. $12m sounds like
good value (too cheap?) if they do a similar rebuild of the road overbridge at
Padstow station to those done at Kingsgrove etc., and provide a segregated
terminating platform akin to Lindfield. Operationally this option is much
better, no checking that a terminating train is empty while blocking the
through lines.
