Steve Bracks' desire to see Ballarat become the first regional city to
benefit from the Government's planned Regional Fast Rail Project was
dealt a blow yesterday by Transport Minister Peter Batchelor. Transport
Minister, Peter Batchelor, said yesterday at the launch of the
Government's calls for expressions of interest from the private sector
for the development and delivery of the new rail network that Geelong
was likely to be the first link completed, for technical reasons.
