Re: Excess NR Locos for Sale



The reason why dyno was not used is that most of the Alco`s in service did
not work.
The other issue was in Vic the dyno had to work ex depot....no such
requirement in NSW....so when a unit came in with dyno problems all that was
done was it was cut out....as a matter of fact many Mark1 44`s had thewhole
dyno set up removed during major O`haul......oh and by the way we were
taught to use the air on our long heavy down grades.....I suppose you`d say
that`s  no good but the dyno was\is useless with full loads and high
speed..... we have big hills up here.....even bigger than Avenal bank!!!!!
