old bridges need to be upgraded.
They cheated on Ballast
They cheated on sleeper spacing and size
At least in Victoria.
you can run 60 kg on wood and 35 tonnes axle loading if you spend the money
Some US roads run these sorts of axle loads on 95 lb rail [at least they
used to?], but you should look at the quality bed it is laid on.
