I remember seeing an NX panel in the museum when I was last in
Australia, but I must have been distracted, as I don't recall a
mention of Emerson, as I too, would have found it somewhat unusual.

Where was the panel housed?  I can't recall a signal box there,
although I have to admit it is many, many years since I was anywhere
near the Emerson crossing.
