Re: Site of new steel mill

According to Clive Palmer construction is supposed to start in September
this year, though nobody in the construction business has heard anything
about it. Even if the plant is designed and built in Europe, and structural
steelwork for the buildings is done in India or Indonesia, they should have
at least talked to a civil contractor in Australia who will push the dirt
around and pour the concrete. For something that size contracts are usually
signed at least 12 months before work commeces.

Seeing that they are also trying to finalise funding, any Australian
construction company will demand a very sizable cash advance or guarantee up
front before they start work.
