About 10 years ago.
Hardly a withdrawal. The only route it had of itself was over "the hump"
across the railway line at Preston workshops. One stop. The rest of the
route was identical to the West Preston route, which turns left at the
hump while the one-stop of the 9 went right.
Long history behind all this. To do with cable trams, early electric
trams and the 1955-56 Bourke Street bus-to-tram conversion. Too busy to
tell it tonight.
