Yes. I find it extremely hard to believe that State Rail NSW have almost
the same amount of employees that Public Transport Vic have. When you take
into account, that SRA have a much larger suburban network than Melbourne,
and also 1, 2, 3, 4 or more guards in some instances, it just doesn't add
up. I've seen cases of 3 guards on a Sydney station just to let one train
go, then the train guard to push the buttons.
In Melbourne very few stations are staffed, and all trains are single
person operated. Even taking tram drivers into account, I can't see how the
figures above add up.
