Re: K5LA Locomotive Horns

friend of mine who sometimes reads this group (gidday oldphartz)
Back in the 70's had a Toyota High Ace that had a panto resevoir rescued
from a Tait, securely mounted inside the van with suitable connections which
allowed topping up the pressure as he filled his car at the local servo.
;o))))
Oh yes the point...this resevoir was connected to a fine set of B Class
horns mounted under the van!
You could get quite a few "Blats" out of each tank.
We once sat at the intersection of Swanston Street and Flinders Street
during a busy Saturday night and let go a "Blat"
much to the disaproval of one of the Police Traffic characters, who kept
looking along the tram trucks, as I am sure he thought a train was coming!
As we disapeared past the Copper, Jim let go with his genuine tram bell, and
I think the hapless copper, let one of the learners take over as he
disappeared into Cons for an Expresso....there just was not a tram in sight
either ;o)))
