Re: First sleepers laid at Kingsgrove

There are two line relocations along the quadruplicated section:

Travelling from Bexley North to Bardwell Park the line is being slewed closer
to the creek. Takes the line away from the monster sewer (?) pit at the base
of Kingsland Road and also away from the railway/property boundaries of houses
along Slade Road (reduces retaining wall works) and may give a marginally
improved alignment. Stanchion bases for 4 track portal structures on the
creek side best indicate the location of the new up main.

Going from Bardwell Park to Turrella the line is again being slewed towards
Wolli Creek to avoid property resumptions between Bardwell Creek bridge and
Turrella. The lines however will be slewed toward the creek on the Bardwell
Park side of Ron Gosling Reserve to allow the additional tracks to cross
Bardwell Creek on an alignment furthest away from properties for the
resumption reason above. The current up line will be the down local (or is it
down suburban?) and the current down line will be the down main. Stanchion
bases, again for 4 track portal structures) on the houses side of the line
near Bardwell Park give the alignment of the down main.

As well as sleeper laying the signal bases for the up main have been poured
between Bexley North and Bevo.

Are the existing lines being renewed/rebuilt as intended in the EIS?
