Well, after all, it was a *REHEARSAL* and was never expected that it
would follow the strict performance timetable. Anyway, it didn't start
1½ hours late, it started pretty well on time. It's just that there
were several lengthy breaks during the performanace while "bugs" were
attended to, but the announcements that passengers travelling on
trains other than suburban should leave by 10.30. and passengers
travelling longer suburban distances should leave by 10.45, were
timely, frequent and quite clear.

There apparently was some typical media beat-up about waiting for
trains up to and after midnight - Yes, that was true, but simply
because the reheasal didnt finish until about ¼ to midnight!! Of
course you would be waiting for trains until after midnight. Uh Duh!!

I travelled by bus from Hurstville - quick, simple, fast. Excellent!
(Only query was why buses from the south had to go around to the north
gate??)

ABC talkback radio had calls on Sunday morning - about 8 ppl who
travelled by train - NOT ONE COMPLAINT!!! High praise all round.
