Re: Old Castle Hill branch

Up until 1-2 years ago the original engine shed (steam tram) stood at North
Parramatta, there is now a Burger King there.
About 12 months ago during road works in Parramatta, part of the original
steam tram line was dug up.
I am told that there is a freight truck from the Sydney Ferries line to
Parramatta, half buried down in the Redbank wharf area.
Did CPH railmotors ever see service on the Castle Hill rail line? as it
would have been cheaper to run them instead of steam. Maybe if they had
replaced steam with a CPH the line would have lasted longer.
