The light rail system has stops but no stations. See the definitions at
Section 4 of the Rail Safety Regulation 1999.

"light rail stop mean any place designated for the picking up of setting
down of passengers on a route.....of a light rail system."

"station means a station on railway land, and includes any place (other
than a light rail stop) designated for the picking up or setting
down of passengers on a railway."

It has all got to do with tickets, on the light rail there are no barriers,
you can purchase a ticket on the tram (or light rail vehicle). But on a
station you usually should have a ticket before passing the barrier to the
platform area.

The stop now called "Star City" was, for about three months before the
openning of the permanent casino, called "Casino". Since the light rail
system openned stops are being sign posted "Tram Stop".
