Queensland Premier Mr Peter Beattie performed happily in front of a crowd
of locals in Wallangarra yesterday, seemingly free from concern over
electoral rorting turmoil. Mr Beattie was in the historic, railway border
town to unveil a 40-metre-long, six-metre-high "Welcome to Queensland''
sign in the shape of a steam train.
