How about the "Burke and Wills XPT".
Melb-Bris-Cairns-Tenant -Ck-Darwin-Tenant Ck-then runs out of fuel and dies
in the outback.

Or even better, a circular Ghan service , Alice Springs-Darwin-Tennant
Creek-Cairns-Brisvegas-Sydney-Melbourne-Adelaide-Alice springs. Of course
there would also be one running in the other direction too.
