Maglev in the news again

I didn't bother posting this as part of the usual news digest, but Peter
Nixon has been spouting the virtues of maglev in the business section of
yesterday's Age. He appears not to have listened to any of the criticism
he received after saying the same thing in The Australian a month or so
ago.

This country has spent the best part of 100 years and billions of dollars
trying to standardise the railways, and the task is still not complete. It
is sheer lunacy to propose introducing something which it totally
incompatable with all other railways.

I suggest letters to the editor.
