Quilpie is isolated by flooding. The Army is preparing to airlift food to
the town tomorrow.
As a matter of interest, I almost got stranded in Quilpie on the
Westlander in December 1992. 250mm of rain fell in a matter of 2 hours.
On arrival at Charleville, the connie said that the water had reached the
tops of the rails at one point.
