I read this article in The Age
How our mighty public transportation system has fallen! Once upon a time
there were dedictaed gardening staff that planted beautiful flowers and
trees along the sides of rail lines. A dim reminder remains along parts of
the Belgrave/Lilydale line.
It could be worse however as anyone who has ever ridden the diesel suburban
service in Auckland will attest. It is a struggle to find a timetable and the
trains run less often again.
cheers Peter
