Less than one train a day Maurie.

At the moment there are only five NRC goods/freight
trains into the Northern Territory, they are the only
trains apart from the two NRC hauled Ghan services.
National Rail Corp are utilising double stack and long
trains to the max.

The freight NRC carry also happens to be for all points
North to Darwin, easily handled between Alice Springs
and Darwin by road trains.

If the Alice to Darwin line existed right now, it would
have nothing more than the previous mentioned five
freight trains per week, plus whatever pass services.!
