Around 16:05 Wednesday, the points from the Down Illawarra Local to the
Airport Line (and related signal) failed. The points were set for the
Airport Line and the first thought was to clip them and send all trains via
the Airport. The driver on the first train, A Campbelltown-via-Sydenham,
was apparently not qualified for the Airport Line.
Eventually, from around 16:45 until some time after 18:00, all City Outer
trains operated to Sydenham and beyond. Passengers for the Airport Line
were advised to change at Turrella.
