well it's not the FIRST time they've tried to exclude compensation time for additional stations or
shave time off existing routes. November 1996 on the Main North line alone saw the time from Redfern
to Burwood (express) shaved from 10 to 9 min, and all stops from Burwood to Hornsby cut from 34 to
31min (with cuts at areas like Denistone, Epping to Cheltenham and Thornleigh to Normanhurst). A
theoretical of 3 min time saving for the all stops after Strathfield. The result? All the trains ran
at least 3 min late when they arrived at Honrsby/Burwood (with the SPI indicators!)
