Perhaps because it is quicker? Just looking at one, the train departing
Turrella at 1244 arrives at Central at 1256 - the train that connects with
it (the 1248 ex Turrella) arrives Central at 1304.

It owuld have to be a temporary measure, methinks, until the East Hills
amplification is completed.
