You may be surprised to hear that most CityRail trains do run pretty close to time.  The majority of
people who complain about "always late" trains have a very small sample of data, namely two trains a
day, which may be affected by specific circumstances. Today, the trains I encountered were:

10:50 Sutherland to Central - arrive <1 min late due to signals at Sydney Yard, however on time at
Sutherland and Hurstville, and early through Redfern.
12:17 Central to Hornsby - arrive 2 min late due to signals at Hornsby, however on time at Strathfield
and Epping.
16:22 Hornsby to Central - arrive 2 min late due to signals at Macdonaldtown caused by late running
NT-1, however on time at Hornsby, Epping and all stations to Burwood.
19:38 Central to Sutherland - arrive on time.  On time at Hurstville too.
