Ooh Yeah, the rail easment is still in place and in good condition. The
track etc is all but gone. But you should see those
B doubles trying to negotiate the road from the the Hume to Tumut just north
of Adelong. That is a bad bad bad road for
trucks. The one to Tumbarumba is better but still poor. With carbon credits
just starting to attract the attention
of big business there are more trees being planted up round that area than I
have seen in a long time. The project at Tumut
is huge and the need for major transport infrastructure in the area can't be
underestimated. Oh yeah and if RAC could
see the forest for the trees they might find that there are better uses for
the 170 million FreightCorp paid them in access
fees last year than just tarting up tatty uban stations.
