SLR Extensions

I did another walk along the SLR extension from Jubilee Park to
Wentworth Park on Tuesday.

Semi's loaded with concrete sleepers were lining up at the Jubilee Park
works depot, were sleepers are being stock piled. 2 road/rail flatop
trucks were on the outbound track down at the station, one loaded with
sleepers, the other came out of the tunnel while I was there. It is
possible they are 'manually' relaying track in the tunnel.

Jubilee Park station now has an inbound platform. The outbound is still
a line of reinforcing rods, but the retaining wall on this side looks to
be near completion.

At the other side of the Glebe point tunnel, earth works are now underway
for the Bridge Rd station, making the location of this station now quite
clear.

Onward to Wentworth Park station, were the new platform is pretty well
complete from the heavy construction point of view - the concreteing and
earth works are complete, it basicly only needs finishing surface work now,
and fit out.

Some signaling contractors were working at Wentworth Park putting in
cabling and signal post bases for the signals that mark the start of
the extension.

At most places along the line where I could see the track, staunchion
foundations have been cast, although I expect the actual instalation of
posts and wires will be the very last step.

While at Wentworth Park, 2104 arrived, now decorated in Apple IMacs
instead of Radio 2UE slogans.

I've updated by liveries page to show a 3/4 view of 2104 in its new
colours.
