IEAust symposium on Parramatta rail link

The Institution of Engineers, Austraia Transport Engineering Panel is
holding a symposium on the Chatswood - Parramatta rail link tomorrow
night.

The IEAustTP web site http://www.civeng.unsw.edu.au/IEAustTP/ says that
guests are welcome at meetings, but it's probably best to send an email
first. It's down the bottom of the page on the site.

Cheers
David

>The Parramatta Rail Link is a major public transport initiative by the NSW
>Government to improve the performance of the rail network and meet the
>changing travel needs of Sydney's population.
>
>It is a new 27 kilometre railway linking Parramatta and Chatswood via
>Epping. Most of the route will be located underground in tunnel. It will be
>fully integrated into the existing rail network, with connections to the
>Main West Line at Westmead, Main North Line at Epping, and North Shore Line
>at Chatswood.
>
>The new rail link will add five stations to CityRail's current network and
>seven existing stations will be upgraded. Train services will commence in
>2006 and almost 18 million trips are expected to be generated on the rail
>link during its first year of operation.
>
>The presenter is Peter Katz, General Manager, Parramatta Rail Link.
