Re: Re: Re: [NSW] Plasma Screens operating

the black boxes themselves have a few things inside, from my own
observations:

1. First is the plasma screen itself.
2. behind the plasma screen are basically PCs--only without the usual
beige case you see them in. if you take a look there are fans on the
sides of these black boxes--they're slightly larger than your usual PC
power supply fan.
3. Even two mice (i.e. pointing device, not real rodents) are included
in the black boxes!!! What I haven't seen though are keyboards but I
guess a 104 key QWERTY wouldn't exactly be practical to fit into that
box.

Aside from the that many stations that have the boxes and are not
underground have black covers on the side of the boxes that cover the
screens to block the glare. If you want to see one or two of these go to
Ashfield or Wolli Creek. Even Strathfield has a few "flaps" on the side
on some boxes.

Another observation is that Strathfield platforms 5 and 6 will have 8
screens on each of the platforms, i.e. making it a total of 16 screens
for the island platform. A new bracket was installed between the western
exit and the lifts a few days ago after the screen near the
old-light-bulb was relocated 5 metres east.

What are the chunky black boxes that are mounted on brackets
away from
the screens? They're really obstructive. Why can't they be
placed
somewhere else (like on the ceiling rather than dangling from
a bracket)
