Yes......it is.....this time few years ago (1992) when I took Ghan for the
1st time it was 26 carriages hauled by EL 53. But EL53 have no trouble of
hauling that lenght of train and actually arrived Alice 3 hours ahead of
schedule(Adelaide-Alice Spring in 19 hours). On the way to Alice EL53 did't
run very fast at all, we were half an hour ahead of time when we reach Port
Augasta.
