QR Joins Olympic Torch Relay
Our luxury Great South Pacific Express train will be carrying a very
special, and well-travelled international passenger, next month.
The Olympic Torch will travel on the train, between Mackay and Proserpine on
Friday the 23rd of June.

The GSPE will stop on route to Proserpine, to allow communities to view the
flame and be part of this historic Sydney 2000 Olympic Games event.

You can see the torch at these locations at the following times on the
23rd of June:

Mackay Rail Station in the morning from 9:45am to 10:15am:
At Kuttabul township's level crossing between 10:55am and 11:10am;
The Seaforth access road, Mt Ossa, at 11:25am to 11:40am;
At the McDermott Road level crossing, Coll - e - Joe, from 11:45am to 12
noon;
The Calen Rail Station from 12:10pm to 12:25pm;
Then the Midge level crossing outside Bloomsbury from 12:53 to 1:28pm;
And finally at the Proserpine rail station for fifteen minutes between
2:15pm and 2:30pm.
