That lasted several years before becoming Melbourne & Hobson's Bay United
Railway Company after absorbing some smaller companies.

We're getting off the track and onto companies which were either absorbed

Melbourne, Mt Alexander, Sandhurst and Echuca Railway.
Melbourne & Essendon Railway
Melbourne Suburban Railway
Geelong & Melbourne Railway
City & Port Railway (Adelaide)
