Not according to the local rags - someone was injured in an explosion about
6 months after DoD officillay withdrew from the site. So they were
presumably still there, but the Australian equivalent of the Official
Secrets Act says that they aren't (and if they are, we are not allowed to
know!)

Which is silly - the line is broken - a road crosses where the line used to
go, about half way betweem St. Marys and Dunheved. There is absolutely no
way that a train could get to the line without everyone knowing (i.e. by
truck).
