There is to be another tourism boost for the Bendigo region, with a joint
venture between Great Northern Rail and the Bendigo council. A steam
locomotive described as an icon of Bendigo's rail history is to be
rebuilt, and it will eventually carry tourists between Bendigo and Echuca.
