QR diesel tilt train design released.

Walkers Ltd have released the design of QR's diesel tilt train on their web
site. The external appearance of the train will be almost identical to the
existing electric tilt train. The consist, however, will be a push-pull
design similar to the XPT (as opposed to an Xplorer style DMU). The initial
configuration will be a 7 car + 2 power car design as follows:-

Power car (locomotive)
Baggage car with crew quarters
3 x sitting cars
Club car
2 x sitting cars that can cater for disabled passengers
Power car (locomotive)

In a surprise move, the train will not have sleeping accommodation despite
the expected 27 hour journey (reduced from 32 hours). The consist will
permit a further 5 coaches to be added to the existing consist of 7 so
sleeper cars may be planned in the future.
