Fassifern Fri 14th January (XPT failure)

Hi all,
well arrived home 1640 this afternoon to find
an XPT sitting in Plat 1 Fassifern. Was NT26
that I passed at Cardiff over 2 hours
earlier. Something about a handbrake failing
had caused the train to remain at Fassifern
station.
It appears that the bulk of the passengers
from the XPT were loaded onto the 1503 to
Sydney that must have been wrong roaded
through Fassifern to Plat 2.
I arrived at the station at 1645 as the last
of the luggage was being off loaded. The the
empty XPT departed south. A light engine (82)
went through shortly after then NP24? from
the north west arrived. After all the luggage
was loaded, it departed at 1656. The
following train was the 1603 Sydney service,
departing Fassifern at 1703. SHortly after
the 1644 to Gosford arrived.
Made for an interesting 15 minutes at
Fassifern for me this day.
