Re: Metcard [Melbourne] Ticket collector series

: How many different Metcards series are now circulating?

: There are cartoons, Melbourne food and Internet ISP offers that I know of.

Way back about 12 months ago there were special ones for the Show,
international Flower and Garden show, Moomba.

: The Millennium Cartoon series - how many cartoons and how are they numbered?

All tickets are numbered and come in sets of 4.
Numbered like, MA1, MA2, MA3, MA4, MA1, MA2 ......
Number is in bottom right corner (when ticket is held Landscape)

For the food there are 6 different coloured ones.
MA1,MC2 - Dark Blue
MA2,MC1 - Light Blue
MA3 - Pink
MA4,MB4 - Brown
MB2, MC3 - Red
MB3 - Orange
Sorry I don't have MC4 or MB1.

The cartoon series there are again 6 different ones, and they come
in the MA, MB and MC series.

The Free online, Special events (Flower Show, Royal Melb. Show, Moomba)
and just all the same. ie MA1, MA2, MA3, MA4 all the same.

So when you get a special ticket and then buy another three you will have
all four (even if they are the same design)

As for the plain Metcard one there are three styles, the orginal (three
red arrows in the top corner), the second design with the one big arrow
and the second design for Retial outlets (ie writing on front)

As for the Food and cartoon ones, the bottom of the picture is just cut
off for the writing (the orginal food ones had a yellow strip)

The special event ones were only ever issued at Retial outlets, so there
is no full picture version (always had writing on the front)

Hope this helps.
