I saw the footage of the fireworks on Channel Eddie (9) from Sydney and
trains and cars were running through the early part of the fireworks in
Sydney on the bridge.

I got a good view of the fireworks by catching the 2232 extra (very empty)
interurban from Central Sydney Central Electric Terminal to Penrith after
work and watched it on Channel Eddie. Obviously most people were in the city
already as most up trains I saw and stations (except for Central "what are
we going to call it this year" station were near empty.
