Peterborough Station Report 12 Feb.

G'day again from Peterborough, the weather has been stinken hot
over the past few weeks, and it was a relief to see some cooler
weather yesterday and to day. I have been down doing a bit of
research at the old Terowie Railway depot , which is about
25 Klm south of Peterborough and was in the 1940s / 19160s
a very busy Broad Gauge railway terminal. The platform and
a few of the old Station buildings still remain , though in a run
down state, There is still a few klm of broad gauge track on
site which could be used to run a small tourist train, a
motor rail of some type would be ideal, if you have any ideas
or would like to help the Progress Association would love
to hear from you. Contact Heather Strawbridge at Terowie
on 08 86 591187 One thing, there is no narrow gauge
at Terowie..
My train report to 16.00 CST.
The Eastbound Ghan came cruising through 40 Minutes
late at 13:45 CST and was non stop as usual. NR112.

Next to come through at a good pace was the BHP
eastbound billet freight from Whyalla, with only one
Loco for a change NR41.

I have done a lot of work on my home
page and also have a page up relating to
Terowie, I have added links to all the
Peterborough Sites that I could find
on the web.
Cheers for now from Peterborough
South Australia.

Yours in The Steam
Robin
