That is pretty common regardless of Y2K issues etc. Don't forget the
numner of passes to be issued and the amount of new students, changes
to old ones etc. School didn't start that long ago anyway. There has
been a grace period in place around this time of year for school passes.

This might sound harsh but I believe that if a parent chooses to send a
kid to a school not in the local area, the parents should pay. I have
seen school passes with long distances such as Sydney - Thirroul. I
don't believe that the tax payer should pay for that type of thing
because little Johnny's mum and dad want little Johnny to go to a
boarding school etc. (This comment not meant at any one person in the
ng, btw)
