That's a very shortsighted policy considering how diesel prices have
gone up in the past 10-20 years. Diesel is running out, no arguments.
Diesel certainly isn't gonna start materialising in the middle of
nowhere. The question is whether Diesel will get too expensive within
the lifetime of the the 85/86 class. I personally don't think so.

And also, whatever happened to environmental resposibility? The
electrics are much cleaner than any diesel will ever be. While cheaper,
diesel produces noxious gases and carcinogens aplenty and considering
the scale at which the diesels are used in Sydney (where electrics could
be used) that's a huge contribution to pollution levels.

It would appear the dollar has won over protecting out livelihood.
