Well, Terry , I believe you! I read a story elsewhere, when these
carriages introduced, they tested the riding quality
by filled up a glass of water on the dining table, and the train passed
the test without a single dip on the table. ( I think they did a
similar test with "Blue train" of South Africa)
I don't think any of the Comeng sleepers/V&SA joint stock/QR sleeper/
or XPT can pass the test.


I hope I had a chance to take "Wegmann" sleeper. Unfortunately they
either gone or become special services carriages or simply gone by the
time I was born. I got interested in these carriages when last year,
someone suggested they are the finest train ever grace the rail of
Australia. Thanks to Chris's Com-railpage I got to see how luxury these
carriages were. I was amazed by the round end lounge, the
velvet/barrier for top berth, I would say these carriages were almost
as good as "20 Century Limited" (or better).
