Blue Mountains meeting on rail problems

>From the Blue Mountains Gazette:

The Blue Mountains Commuter and Transport Users Association has
congratulated all those who were involved in having the Blue Mountains
included on the world heritage list.

"This will evidently attract more tourists who hopefully will travel by
train," secretary Paul Trevaskis said this week.

This raises the issues that the association has been addressing for some
time, he said.

Issues like: On-time running all day every day; clean toilets and other
aspects of train presentation; luggage, where to put it; ticketing issues,
eg, three-day pass or longer; and timetabling.

Mr Trevaskis said the association acknowledged the anniversary of the
Glenbrook rail accident pointing out the association had been represented
at the inquiry and would be pursuing the recommendations made.

The association would be holding a meeting to discuss these issues at
Katoomba Neighbourhood Centre, on Saturday December 16, 1 pm to 3 pm.
