You're right, it would be faster to go to Campbelltown, but I don't think it
would be very attractive.  It's an all stations trip, and could involve
changing trains at Granville and Glenfield.  Unless CityRail started running
expresses (ie Granville, Fairfield, Liverpool, Glenfield, Campbelltown), I
would guess that people from the West would be more likely to stay on a single
train and travel to the Central.
