Re: QR Steam activity today!!

On the morning of Sunday 13th, DD17 1046 was operating anti-clockwise around
the City Circle with a water gin and only 6 cars of stainless steel set 38.
BB181/4 1079 was running clockwise with no gin and another set of stainless
steel cars. All Exhibition trains in both directions ran through island
platforms 8 & 9 at Roma Street, and no fewer than 4 trains were on the
indicator to depart (and did) between 10:40 and 10:41!! Two of them with
steam. In the afternoon, both steam trains were operating anti-clockwise.

The electric circulal specials were all new type SMUs. Although there are some
trains running direct to the Ekka this year from some suburban lines, there are
no direct services home. Everyone has to catch a train to Roma St or Central
and change.
