Not on the "Southern".
This week I noticed that hundreds of markers had appeared on the downside of
the line between New Cross Gate and Norwood Junction.
I quickly worked out that they were "chain" markers.
78 chains was marked about 3 feet from a milepost.

"Ere mate,your railway's shrunk".
